I was fortunate to be invited to the FIRST “Come Braai and Wine With Us” in association with Durbanville Hills, Chef Tjaart and WEBER. I had no idea what hubby and I were in for. Let’s just say that the evening was anything BUT your usual food and wine event.
Held at the beautifully located Lagoon Beach Hotel & Spa, Cape Town on 7 and 8 March 2018, we had the opportunity to cook our own meals in teams and enjoy a “Big Buffet Braai” towards the end of the evening, while sipping on delicious Durbanville Hills wines and taking in the glorious sunset views over the ocean and Table Mountain.
Each guest enjoyed a welcome drink from Durbanville Hills wines, as well as yummy pizzas freshly made on the WEBER. It didn’t matter whether you could cook or not, as we watched an interactive demo thanks to Chef Tjaart Walraven, the SA Bake Off Judge. That man has some seriously good knife skills! He’s so much fun and had us giggling a lot.
Sipping Durbanville Wines from gorgeous Riedel glasses, we enjoyed an entertaining session with winemaker Martin Moore. All in all, it was a fun-filled evening with many laughs, great food and wine with prizes awarded to the best teams and “braai” performances.

Fun With A Purpose
