The La Motte Harvest Experience – A Celebration of Winelands Traditions

Harvest season is in full swing in the Cape Winelands and despite an extremely challenging year for the wine industry, quality expectations are high thanks to a phenomenal growing season. Shortly before the arrival of Covid-19 and the end of the world as we knew it in 2020, I had the pleasure of visiting La Motte for their Harvest Experience, and I’m thrilled to return again this year to enjoy the excitement of harvest-time.

Restore Your Soul at Gonana Guest House {And A Giveaway!}

There is something quite intoxicating about the prospect of escaping to the beach for a romantic getaway. Hubby and I were dreaming about a summer beach escape and when the opportunity came our way, we were only too happy to indulge our thalassophilian hearts (I just made that word up, although thalassophile is a real word meaning ‘a lover of the sea’). Sunshine, salty ocean air, crashing waves and dreamy sunsets at a quiet hideaway was needed to restore and reinvigorate our Covid-weary souls.

Non Profit Kunye Wines Launched in the Hope of Diversifying the South African Landscape

KUNYE, meaning “together” in Xhosa, is a new non profit wine brand that celebrates the diversity of the South African landscape.

All profits generated from the KUNYE wine sales will be placed into a scholarship fund to assist people from previously disadvantaged backgrounds in South Africa to further their knowledge in any aspect of wine education.

Journey’s End Vineyards, the boutique winery and vineyard, owned by the Gabb family, and situated on the mountain slopes above Sir Lowry’s Pass Village in the Helderberg basin, are delighted to have been awarded ‘Ethical Company of the Year’ at The Drinks Business Green Awards 2020.
