I was brimming with excitement as I arrived at their stunning new showroom. Located at 10 Christiaan Barnard Street in Cape Town’s rejuvenated Foreshore area, it would be hard to miss the ultra-modern building that now houses the luxurious and stylish The Diamond Works.
Stepping onto the plush red-carpet, I felt somewhat like a celebrity. Everyone was warmly welcomed as we passed by the gorgeous red-carpet violinist and the brand-new Renault Duster SUV. This would be awarded to the person with the best referral loyalty over the period 2018/19. Now that is one incredible incentive!
Sipping on a chilled glass of Deetlefs MCC, I experienced a tiny thrill at the scene that lay before my eyes. The chic interior of the showroom took my breath away. The glamorous evening was just beginning, and the showroom was soon filled with beautiful people sipping on fine wines and bubbly, while nibbling on delicious canapés and handcrafted Huguenot chocolates.
Aimee Lentz, Operations Manager at The Diamond Works for the past ten years, took us on a brief tour of the opulent space while telling us about some of the unique features that the impressive jewellery design store offers. Did you know? They had just five months to find a new space and relocate from the V & A Waterfront. A daunting task for any company, but they managed to do it in record time.
Boasting state-of-the-art features, the new showroom is open to the public and is a not-to-be missed experience while in the Mother City.

The inimitable Mishka Patel was the MC for the evening, while CEO of Cape Town Tourism, Enver Duminy, delivered the welcome speech and assisted with the official ribbon cutting and store opening alongside Store Manager Melanie Stockman-Hesse. The glittering event continued with live band music and more celebratory bubbles and delectable desserts and Huguenot chocolates.
